Victorian dump weight
A truly exceptional late Victorian glass dump weight, dating from around 1890/1900. The dump weight is by far the largest I have ever seen and is in good condition.
The dump measures 18cm high and is about 12.3cm at it's widest point.
Dump weights are also known as 'end of day' glass, because they were made by the glassblowers using any left over glass at the end of the day.
They make super paperweights, desk ornaments or even door stops and have become extremely collectable in their own right.
